also presents the clean flavor of apple, with a hint of litchi fruit in its
lingering finish.
Grenache 2006 Columbia
A very pretty wine in the glass, light ruby in color, very clear and bright. The nose is full of the aromas of cranberry, fresh bread and strawberry. Racy acid in the forward palate combines with the flavors of cranberry, raspberry, peach and a bit of hazelnut, resulting in a well-balanced, classic grenache.
Syrah Lonesome Spring Ranch 2005 Yakima Valley
This vintage produced very lively but concentrated fruit. The wine shows this with its deep purple color. Hints of blackberry, sage and plumb waft from the glass in an inviting “drink me!” way. Racy acid at the attack propels this richly extracted, well-balanced classic Syrah. Next, black plum, blackberry, cassis and rosemary elements cross the palate. Firm tannins hold the experience in balance without being austere. Finally, the long-balanced finish hangs on until giving way to a silky hint of toasted nuts.

Syrah Clifton Hill 2005 Columbia Valley
A hedonistic wine, it is dark ruby color, with a purple edge, and appears viscous in the glass. The nose is a savory mix of cedar, orange peel, plum and, blackberry. As it continues to open, you taste hints of sage, nutmeg, allspice, blueberries and roasted coffee. The warm, weighty attack is full of blackberry, plum, grilled meats and dark chocolate, with underlying mineral notes. A high glycerin, almost creamy mid-palate unfolds into a lingering, sexy, cocoa and port-like finish
